Julians – A Tropical French Bistro

Quintessence Hotel Announces Restaurant Grand Opening Celebration

Owner, Geoffrey Fieger, and Executive Chef, Dominique Thevenet, are pleased to announce that JULIANS—A TROPICAL FRENCH BISTRO, will officially open on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.   The staff at Quintessence Hotel has worked tirelessly, despite the challenges of Hurricane Irma, to open the restaurant and show that Anguilla is strong and better than ever.

JULIANS features a unique combination of fresh tropical flavors, fused with Chef Dominique’s Bistro French style.

“Anguilla is known as the ‘Culinary Capital of the Caribbean’,” Mr. Fieger explains. “We want to provide our guests with the finest dining experience on the island.”  He calls it “island soul food.”

The menu features an array of soups and salads, including Grand Mansion Gazpacho and Caribbean Fish Soup; starters like Burgundy Escargot and Lobster Medallion; and decadent desserts like Mango Creme Brulée and Chocolate Pepper Cake.

Entrées include island seafood like Anguilla Crayfish grilled with lemon butter sauce, and Tuna Steak with a juniper berry port wine cream sauce; hearty dishes like Rosemary Roasted Lamb Loin and Beef Tenderloin Bordelaise;  along with traditional French dishes like Salad Niçoise, Beef Bourguignon, and Poulet de Bresse. The chef’s special Q Lasagne and vegetarian dishes are always available.

The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, adding lunch beginning on December 15th. Reservations only.  Please call or email.  Due to electricity shortages on the west end of the island, we currently accept cash or local checks.

Chef Dominique Thevenet was born in Lyon, France, between the Rhone and Saone rivers, the gastronomic capital of the world. He grew up in a family of bakers, chefs, and grocers and earned his CAP Diploma de Cuisine in 1980. He apprenticed in five-star hotels in France, Egypt, Yemen, Gabon, and Senegal before coming to Anguilla 30 years ago. In Anguilla he worked in some of the island’s finest restaurants before opening his own, much-acclaimed, Café de Paris. For years, Geoffrey Fieger has been a fan of Chef Dominique and is delighted to bring his experience and vision to The Q Hotel.
